Gregynog is a residential conference centre managed by the University of Wales.
Gregynog, hidden away in the peaceful Montgomeryshire countryside, is a centre for conferences, education and the arts. The Hall is surrounded by 750 acres of gardens, woodland and farmland, making Gregynog one of the most peaceful and relaxing venues imaginable.
Hospitality is fundamental at Gregynog, and you will soon realize that you are dealing with friendly, helpful people who want your event to be a success. Add to this our outstanding value for money and you have found the first choice for your event.
Formerly the home of art collectors Gwendoline and Margaret Davies, Gregynog has 47 bedrooms including 12 en-suite, and a further 6 bedrooms in a cottage nearby. The maximum capacity is 98 and non-residential conferences can be hosted to a maximum of 180.
The estate incorporates miles of woodland walks, spectacular views of the countryside and the Severn Valley, a beautiful lily pond and the atmospheric Great Wood, a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The formal gardens, set within a backdrop of imperious conifers, are truly glorious.
We recently achieved the coveted 'Hospitality Assured' award, the professional service standard for the hospitality industry, and were the first Welsh organization to do so. Every member of Gregynog staff is focused on providing the best service we possibly can, because we know that's the way to persuade you to come back. Last year our guests gave us a satisfaction rating of 85%.
Gregynog's location near the quiet village of Tregynon, six miles north of Newtown in Powys, makes it reachable within three hours from all parts of Wales, and within two hours from Birmingham, Manchester, Chester and Liverpool. Rail links are via the Birmingham-Aberystwyth line, and the nearby A483 leads to the motorway network and to the routes to University centres in Wales. A courtesy vehicle operates to and from Newtown station by advance arrangement.
